Description:
Background: Since 2012, the Strengthening and Electoral Processes Project has been supporting the Election Commission of Pakistan in realizing its mandate of conducting free, fair, and credible elections. The core objective of the project is to strengthen the institutional capacity of the Commission through capacity development initiatives, organization of inclusive multi-stakeholder dialogues to develop consensus on electoral reforms, undertaking public outreach activities including civic and voter education campaigns, and enhancing the effectiveness of ECP-s wings dealing with trainings, gender and inclusivity, and research and development (among others). The project also works with national and provincial assemblies with a focus on increasing the capacities of parliamentarians, enhancing the effectiveness of parliamentary caucuses, and strengthening linkages between parliamentarians and their constituents to inform policy making and legislation.
